Why join? We built The CMO Club around the real challenges marketing leaders face—from navigating AI adoption to scaling demand generation and proving marketing's impact at the executive level.

You'll also get insights from executive peers, allowing you to learn from others in the same spot as you.

Pavilion is a private membership community for GTM leaders across marketing, sales, customer success, and RevOps—designed for executives who are accountable for revenue and want peer support that actually matches their level.

If you're a CMO or senior marketing leader at a B2B tech company, this is a room full of people who genuinely get what you're dealing with.

Why join? Pavilion goes well beyond a networking group—members get access to Pavilion University, an AI in GTM School certification program, role-specific Slack channels with fast peer response times, and 700+ in-person events including intimate executive dinners and a flagship 4-day GTM summit in New York City.

The cross-functional angle is what makes it stand out: you're not just connecting with other marketers, you're working through GTM challenges alongside CROs, CCOs, and RevOps leaders. For CMOs who sit at the revenue table and need peers who understand that pressure, Pavilion is one of the strongest options on this list.

3. Chief - Best for women marketing leaders

You'll also get access to private Clubhouses in NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington D.C., plus exclusive summits and pop-up experiences at events like SXSW and CES.

Why join? The core experience is small, confidential Leader Huddles of 7–12 CMOs moderated by Drew himself—no vendors, no pitching, just real peer conversation under the Chatham House Rule. Beyond the huddles, you get thought leadership exposure through the Renegade Marketers Unite podcast and recognition on the annual Top 101 B2B Marketers list.

I also think the free Transition Team is worth noting—if you ever lose your role, CMO Huddles gives you continued access to peer support, which is rare.

6. CMO Alliance - Best for CMO certifications

The landing page for the CMO Alliance community
CMO Alliance empowers marketing executives with expert insights, peer networking, and professional development.
  • Audience: Marketing leaders and CMOs across all industries

CMO Alliance is a global community and learning platform for marketing leaders, run by the Alliance group—the team behind Product Marketing Alliance and other adjacent professional communities. It brings together 6,000+ members from companies like Adobe, SAP, and Bloomberg around a shared goal of stronger marketing leadership.

Why join? What sets CMO Alliance apart is the certification pathway—if you want to formalize your expertise with accredited Revenue Marketing credentials, I don't think any other CMO community comes close to offering that.

The CMO Summit runs across 6+ global locations, so you'll find in-person access to peers and speakers regardless of where you're based. At the Exec+ tier, you unlock peer councils, exclusive CMO dinners, and executive playbooks that make the investment feel purpose-built for the C-suite.

7. CMO Coffee Talk - Best for weekly peer discussions

Why join? What makes CMO Coffee Talk genuinely different is the no-recording, no-pitching culture—it creates a level of candor you rarely get in a professional setting, and that's what keeps people showing up week after week. You'll get access to a Slack workspace where the conversation continues between sessions, plus guest experts like NPS creator Fred Reichheld who have joined past calls.

8. World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) - Best for enterprise brand leaders

The webpage of the WFA community
WFA connects senior marketers worldwide to share insights, shape industry standards, and drive marketing excellence.
  • Audience: Senior client-side marketers at multinational enterprise brands
  • Size: 12,000+ members
  • Membership Cost: Not publicly disclosed; Apply to join

The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) is a not-for-profit global network founded in 1953, representing 150+ of the world's biggest brands—from Bayer and General Mills to Bank of America—across five continents. It's the only organization of its kind built exclusively for senior client-side marketers, making it one of the most authoritative marketing bodies in the world.

Why join? If your company is a large multinational brand, WFA gives you access to 100+ peer meetings and webinars annually, plus the flagship Global Marketer Week conference and specialist forums covering everything from media procurement to AI and creator marketing.

What really sets it apart is the depth of member-commissioned research, benchmarks, and tools—things like media inflation forecasting and digital maturity measurement—that would be near-impossible to replicate on your own. It's also worth knowing that membership is organizational rather than individual, so your entire marketing team gets access once your company joins.

9. Association of National Advertisers (ANA) - Best for U.S. brand marketing teams

The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) community landing page
ANA supports marketers with expert research, networking opportunities, and career development.

Founded in 1910, the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) is one of the oldest and largest marketing trade organizations in the world, representing 1,600+ member companies and 20,000+ brands across the U.S. and beyond. It's run by a not-for-profit board of leading CMOs and marketing executives, with CEO Bob Liodice at the helm.

Why join? The ANA's scale is genuinely hard to match—your team gets access to 15,000+ pieces of proprietary research, benchmarks, and case studies, plus in-person events like the annual Masters of Marketing Conference in Orlando and the Global CMO Growth Council, which bills itself as the world's largest CMO collective.

What sets it apart from more conversational peer communities is the sheer depth of structured resources: think AI-powered search tools, expert Q&A, certifications, and legislative advocacy on behalf of brand-side marketers. If your team needs a full-stack membership that covers training, policy, events, and peer access all under one roof, ANA delivers that at a scale few others can.

10. The Marketing Society - Best for global senior marketing peers

Why join? The real draw here is the density of CMO-level peers you'll actually be in the room with—whether that's at the annual Global Conference, regional Changemakers Conferences, or intimate Changemakers Salon debates. Your membership also unlocks 200+ events per year, virtual Accelerate Learning Labs, mentoring programs, and regional WhatsApp groups that keep connections active between events.

11. Marketing + Media Alliance - Best for evidence-based marketing leadership

The join now page of the Marketing + Media Alliance community
Marketing + Media Alliance unites the marketing ecosystem through collaboration, education, and industry advocacy.
  • Audience: CMOs and senior marketing leaders at large brands
  • Size: 825+ member companies
  • Membership Cost: Apply to join
  • Platform: Website, member portal, global conferences, webinars, in-person summits

The Marketing + Media Alliance (MMA Global) is a non-profit CMO community of 825+ corporate members across 16 countries, led by CEO Greg Stuart and governed by a board of CMOs from some of the world's largest brands. It brings together marketing leaders from 19 of the Fortune Top 25 B2C companies alongside agencies, AdTech, and MarTech players to advance evidence-based marketing.

Why join? I think MMA's biggest pull is the depth of its research infrastructure—multi-year Think Tanks on attribution, AI, data, and marketing org strategy produce frameworks you can actually take with you. You'll also get access to flagship events like MMA POSSIBLE in Miami and the CMO & CEO Summit in Santa Barbara, where the conversations happen at a genuinely senior level.

The Next CMO is a marketing community focused on the operational side of marketing leadership. It covers areas such as strategy, budgeting, ROI measurement, team building, and campaign planning.

Why join? This is a strong option if you want to become a more capable marketing operator, not just expand your network. Members receive planning templates, budgeting tools, virtual events, community Q&As, job postings, and a free copy of The Next CMO. Its biweekly workshops also offer an Operational Marketing Excellence badge for members who demonstrate their ability to build plans, manage budgets, and measure results.

13. HotTopics CMO Community - Best for global C-suite events

  • Platform: Website, virtual events, in-person events

The HotTopics CMO Community is part of a wider global network for C-suite leaders. It combines executive networking with marketing insights, benchmark research, interviews, and industry awards.

Why join? The event experience is what makes this community stand out to me. HotTopics hosts virtual conversations and curated gatherings at distinctive venues, giving you opportunities to build relationships with senior marketing leaders outside a traditional conference setting. Members can also participate in benchmark research and gain recognition through initiatives such as the Global B2B CMO 100 Awards.

14. CMO Peer Talks - Best for franchise marketing peers

CMO Peer Talks is a peer-led community hosted by PromoRepublic for marketers responsible for franchise and multi-location brands. Its programming focuses on the challenges of managing marketing across large networks of locations.

Why join? Its specialized focus is the main reason I would recommend it. Members discuss issues such as franchisee adoption, local customer acquisition, brand consistency, and turning digital engagement into in-store action. You can also attend monthly roundtables, expert talks, workshops, and offline events while continuing the conversation with other marketers in its private LinkedIn group.

15. Apex Assembly CMO Community - Best for private executive events

APEX CMO community landing page.
Apex offers an invite-only CMO community for exclusive networking and education opportunities.
  • Audience: Enterprise CMOs and senior customer experience executives
  • Membership Cost: Invitation only; cost not public
  • Platform: Executive assemblies, roundtables, custom events, website

Apex Assembly is an invitation-only network built around private C-level events. Its CMO community focuses on peer collaboration, executive education, emerging technology, and business growth.

Why join? The controlled, member-only environment allows for more focused conversations than you may find at an open marketing leadership conference. Its events connect you with fellow executives, educators, analysts, and technology providers to discuss new ideas and potential solutions. I’d consider it a particularly good fit if you prefer structured, in-person executive networking over an always-on online community.
